Taittinger Prélude Grands Crus NV

Launched in the UK in 2004 this wine won a gold medal in the International Wine Challenge 2004. Prélude is the culmination of Claude Taittinger’'s desire to produce a Grand Cru blend, on a par with Vintage Champagne. A 50/50 blend of Chardonnay from the Côte des Blancs (Avize and Le Mesnil-sur-Oger) and Pinot Noir from the Montagne de Reims area (Bouzy and Ambonnay) it is made to the elegant house style. A brilliant pale yellow with silvery highlights, its fine bubbles form a lasting, delicate creamy mousse whilst subtle, fresh floral aromas of elderflower with slightly spicy overtones follow through to an initial fresh, citrus palate, finishing long and rich with hints of peach.
